It sucks 'cause originally I'd think of Tyki Mikk from d.gm since he calls Allen "boy" any chance he gets, but God of War has been a more recent memory so now I just fucking hear Kratos OTL
I thought of that too ! But honestly it's just a cute pet name address.
When you have a pet you don't always address them by their name, you'd sat "boy" or "girl". Even if their human, they're still animals. Like when someone says "come'er boy!" Or "baby boy" or "my boy" to their pet. It's not really weird or anything.
I mean, calling something a gold boy/girl isn't the same as referring to them as just boy lol
Like, I call my cats kitty baby and kitty mama or my old lady cat or rotten child. I don't refer to them as just girls lol even when I had my old man dog I made up cute nicknames like boogabear ((his name was Bear)) or grandpa since he was old af.
We don't even refer to my mom's 7 month old puppy as girl. We call her baby, pupper or Sug since her name is Sugar lol it just feels out of place.
Like, imagine if the person you were dating just called you boy/girl all the time. It's not endearing in the least lol
