concubines don't always mean the side piece to a queen/empress. Usually in situations lie this, the first concubine to become pregnant and/or give birth to a son will be married by the emperor and become the empress. that is why the other omega that is evil towards the MC wants the emperor so bad but the emperor only wants the MC but cares about the mc too much to just baby trap him...or atleast i think
