Lord Mugo promised that the family would still get their rewards, so his family wouldn’t lose anything BUT if Jaheon is still alive, that means that in 12 years time when it’s time for a new sacrifice, the Mugo’s won’t want anyone new, since he has Jaheon now, he won’t be needing anybody else. That’s why those people in charge want to make sure all the sacrifices really die so that new children can keep being brought up and sacrificed, and therefor the fortunes keep coming in for eternity. They only care about the riches and benefits from this traditional ritual
He didn't kill him cause as a child he promised to protect him , he fell in love at that time but what will happen if he isn't eaten? Will the family lose their fortunes or something, why do they to be sure that the the sacrifice is dead? What if Lord just wants to keep him around? And isn't mugo their gof or smn , what do they defy him??
