i really feel for both reynold and og penelope. the one who needed to hear those words the most has been long gone. how would she have felt? reacted? and then theres the whole “this is a game so characters technically dont have free will” thing hanging over everything. makes it all the more complex, his feelings regarding og penelope and how he wronged her.
maybe its the for the best that he never finds out that og penelope is gone and has been for ages now. it’s clear he feels true guilt, and it’s not enough to undo what has been done, but yknow, maybe he can live a life where he strives to be better. that’s maybe the best he can do from here.
