That's not how genetics works, babe. Genetics often and usually favors the dominant genes... however, it's also known for being highly unpredictable. And in this case it's VERY strong on the father's side- in that he created two copies of himself! And in real life, this happens a lot more often than people think. Also, genetics is not just looks or physical features, it can also be personality or behavior/thinking patterns. For example, acquiring the father's physical looks, but having the mother's personality or behavior. The two brothers definitely have strikingly different personalities and behaviors. But since we don't know their mothers, we can't tell where any of that came from. A lot of people like to believe that there are "rule" patterns that genetics follow, but nature is often proving that those rules can be thrown out the window entirely... because with billions of genetic sources coming together to create new offspring, each new offspring is going to carry new genetic patterns that will keep changing with each new generation that spawns forth. Thus, changing the predictability of what traits comes out dominant/recessive.
On my mother's side of the family, I have tons of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cousins- all of us looking different from one another . Yet I have a brother, and 6 cousins- ALL of whom look near IDENTICAL! All of them have different mothers and fathers. The only thing they have in common, is the Harris bloodline (my mom's side). All of us are completely baffled how this happened.
is he really illegitimate? why do they look so alike
