Hazel has ALWAYS been a woman originally. However she was CURSED to turn into a man ONCE a month, every full moon. In the novel, they didn’t say why or expand on the reason. It was literally put in there for comedic effect and for a misunderstanding scene. It literally only happened once in the story and then the author didn’t do anything with that info.
that's so dumb.. Here I was thinking she worked with Spencer or had like a complex about allowing Kylo to date the princess. Something like that but nope.

She is an actual girl, but it’s true that she likes Agnes (the OG Agnes). Though it’s unclear if it’s romantically like people wish for, or just admiration. Something happened in the past where OG Agnes helped hazel, and from there, she basically became a fan of the OG Agnes. She doesn’t like Raymond/spencer because of how he hurt Agnes.
