Usually those kind of jobs pay better and this man was in real desperate need of money for the reason you know. And honestly, sure, he could've gotten a lower paying job but not only would that not be able to support the "city girls" he was seeing but also the crowd he hung out with would've most likely laughed at him if they said they were all buying something and he said that he couldn't afford it (like the bad case scenario of the scene where FL's friends wanted to buy matching earrings and her saying she doesn't have the money and instead of them saying it's okay they laugh or look down on her).
And yeah, this guy just didn't have the luck of encountering a good crowd and the courage to get out of that bad crowd. FL and the ex-fiance are basically the two of the black and white possibilities of how people of the countryside coming to the city will end up like (not saying there isn't an in-between, the gray).
100%! Honestly, it’s just his attitude towards it all that ticks me off the most. He might be a victim to peer pressure n societal norms n stuff but that doesn’t mean he should blame it all on FL and he had so many opportunities where he realised he was in the wrong and continued on ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Like he said it was to support his lavish lifestyle which he didn’t have to do (he emphasised it being money to support “city girls”) and like he knew it was wrong but cheated multiple times over and still blamed FL (as of chap10). Like it’s tragic that it happened but he didn’t HAVE to do it. I’m sure he could’ve gotten a lower paying job and lived just fine.
Other things to remember about this dude is that he recognised the ppl he was hanging out with were toxic (legit pointed out his guy friends were players) and didn’t HAVE to sell his body but his… omg I’m legit just repeating myself but I don’t feel bad for this dude one bit ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ
