Youi know I actually really hate the top in this. It started out so nicely and it kind of just spiraled. My biggest fucking pain is the top just straight up having a fit because the bottom doesn't share his tastes. Like it's pretty obvious the bottom enjoys pain, there's people out there who have this extreme kink, and in regulated environments it's not dangerous. But he just absolutely fucked it up and blames the bottom for it? He got feelings first, he set the rules and broke it, didn't even bother explaining shit. Like with his job, the bottom wasn't even involved in the case, he could have just said this place is dangerous and can get you involved in some drug crimes and the bottom would have definitely just steered clear. Sure, there were moments where I wanted to slap the bottom like with the stalker but I also understood he didn't want to make it into a bigger deal for fear of getting outed as way. I just hate the fact the top gets to be a "better" character than the bottom. Like he's the victim. Bitch you're just a guy who apparently can't cope with his own feelings.
