I love this ending much more than the LN ending where everyone seems to be insufferable and only Killian getting a character development. Spoiler ahead:
In the LN Edith had to be in the dungeon and was almost about to get executed , the Duke didn't trust Edith and didn't feel sorry for Edith. Only Killian was the one who trusted Edith and saved her from the execution. After saving her, they go to Ryzen as originally planned. Also the most infuriating thing about the LN was that Rhysse and Cliff never truly paid for their sins. Rhysse was sent to the monastery and Cliff married a good girl. He ended up becoming the dude. Rhysse was allowed to Turnish the Rudwick name without paying much for her sins while Edith was put on the spot multiple times. But unlike the novel, here everyone seemed to have a good character development. The Duke and the Duchess apologized to Edith. Killian became the Duke and we saw the real Rhysse behind the author who was indeed the fitting female lead with a heart of gold. She really wanted to help Edith and also accepted her fade. Though we don't know what actually happened to Cliff but he also paid for his sins, losing the only person who was living for and disappearing without a trace. Though I'd still want to know what actually happened to him. In the LN, only Killian was the sane person and everyone else's moral compass were all over the places, but here even though Killian was not the Knight in Shining Armor who saved Edith from the bad people, and was put on the line, but I appreciate how they all came together to protect Edith, giving her the love of a family that she never had as either the real her or Edith. So all in all, I love this ending better.
