i found out late that this sequel of shokuryou jinrui exists n i just read it now. it's SO good. it just doesn't end. this manga shows perfectly the indomitable human spirit that allows them to transcend EVEN these powerful aliens called gods. i like how the mangakas present this as a revolution, with the lower class uprising against these dominant creatures; it just parallels EVERY successful revolution there is against oppression. at the same time, the manga depicts the pitfalls of humans that enable this same old oppression, make history repeat itself, and cause their own downfalls—their endless greed and their gullibility. IT'S SOOOO WELL DONE.
i gotta say, though, i'm a little scared of authors/mangakas who don't hesitate on destroying plot developments and rebuilding them again and again. this manga got me STRESSED because i legit don't know what will happen since even the main characters are just completely going through ALLLL these merciless annihilations. like shit you'd expect they'd have some kind of plot armor but they WERE suffering. legit was repeatedly questioning shit bc i be seeing these MCs totally mangled up, dismembered, and gutted out. i was going insane tryna figure out what will happen (it was useless).
also, hoaki IS definitely natsune and yamabiki's child ISTG they r so parents i cried </3
