Oh I agree. He's actually putting brain power toward what he did, why it was wrong, why it harmed the other person & what he can do to change. And it's lasting more than like one chapter.
I think this is one of the best redemption arcs I've read, granted it did start of terrible but he's come so far.

We started from shit, and we've come a long way, it's still not perfect, but this is good rehabilitation, as in, he's becoming a better human being
Things are so much better when the tops knows and regrets how bad he fucked up, this is the only path to redemption
