I felt it was because she was so engulfed in fear then she finally took a moment with clear eyes when she was tired of it. The sword might've been further away too since there were so many monsters it'd be hard to even get near it as well. My opinion though ..
yea i totally agree. fear tends to blind you and when she finally let it go, she noticed her surroundings
This is unreadable girl how tf you been eaten for over a fucking decade and then look up one day and see a freaking sword and say oh so it has been laying there all this time (that just made her and all her suffering look stupid af)
Some developments are so abrupt tbh this had so much potential but it's badly written.
