It might be this dude too. We still don't know much
exactly.. we've never known, and this far into the story, I suspect it's this quirky funny suitor who loved and lost and thinks of it in his old age.

If im being honest, I’ve always known from the start that both the FL and ML are not going to end up together at the end of the story. Most likely they may either die together or the FL will end up dying before the ML does. ☹
In a fairy tale world I had hoped that they would discover a med for her ailment. But I don't think this is that kind of story. My real hope is the FL and ML are seen going off down the road together to live what's left of either of their lives together and the man reminiscing in the beginning of the story is the funny guy with pony tail who has fallen in love with her.
The fact that I forgot that the story started as a flashback due to the first panel with the ML(?) being old and FL not present tells me that I am going to experience another heartbreak.
