There are many sensitive readers nowadays, honestly, they want to make everything about themselves, that's why they keep complaining. If I don't like a story, I will give my opinion on why I don't like it and just leave and never come back. But unfortunately for some people, it didn't seem to be the same

I agree. If someone's not underage why the F would they need anyone else to try and tell them "what they should and shouldn't read". Dude, if someone's not underage that basically means they can (or should) teach themselves how to tell apart the good or "nice" parts and the bad or "nasty" parts of a story, and that they don't (or shouldn't) need anyone else's help in order to be able to tell those apart.

Yeah... Unless it gets sanitized "Disney style", if it goes for the *original* versions of the myths, then there's no avoiding the yuck... cause the yuck is *everywhere* in the original myths... The ancients had little to no notion of what's "controversial", "age appropriate" or even "politically correct".

I think sensitive ones aren’t the people who don’t like this kind of topics, they’re mostly sane none desensitized people who live in non traumatized and healthy life so this kind of topics are genuinely not normal in their eyes, they didn’t change they’re still same. Sensitive ones are people like OP who start with “back in my day we had so much worse you snowflakes wouldnt survive” shit. they sound like American patriots talking about how they had to feed 5 grownups and 16 children on one chestnut for 3 months and then had work 592 hours a week and how we sissies have it all easy and how much better everything was back in their days. Just saying.

I'm gonna need you to reread that response and reword it for me, homie, 'cause it sounds like you're trying to say that the people who don't like these tropes don't bitch about them 24/7 unlike the people who can differentiate between fiction and reality despite their trauma. It's either that or you're coming off as victim blaming trauma survivors in some weird mental gymnastics way that I honestly don't want to waste my time unpacking.
I never said that dissenters didn't exist back then, it's just that they were laughed into being silent or cut off from the rest of the fandom 'cause people are here to read what they want in peace. We don't need to be told "ew, incest/rape/pedophilia bad" because we already know and understand this while understanding that what we are reading isn't real. No one is being directly harmed by the graphic depictions we are seeing, and if you have PTSD it's on you to remove yourself from what is triggering you instead of continuing to read for 200 chapters bitching the whole way through.
Do you need me to word this in a more simpler way for you?

Hit a nerve? Then you’re exactly who im talking about in my comment. You felt so attacked to the point where you felt the need to write a whole paragraph, half of which has zero relevance (what are you doing???). The sensitives ones, are in fact people like you who are malding over my comment and weep and bitch about any media you deem as unhealthy, when it is in fact, media. You’re literally proving the point of my comment.

I’m not going to engage in a conversation with someone who believes in factually incorrect statement of “differentiate fiction from reality” because conversation with a person who parrots that as some sort of defense for what they read is fruitless when it comes to having a meaningful discussion of why people have innate issues with dark topics in sexual stories.
Yes it’s factually incorrect, no I’m not going to spend hours bringing up researches I used to write my English BA paper about effects of different types of erotica on human brain and how it manifests in life. There are lots of them from different acclaimed psychologists and researchers.
I won’t reply to you anymore BUT if you want to discredit what I say I’m going to tell you exactly how to find my sources and read for yourself if you want to act like you know it all. simply, look up subconscious brain, the way it works (cambridge u oversight psychology department has wonderful works on it) and how it intakes reality and fiction and its inability to differentiate between two on a subconscious level due to the fact that the cues brain uses to establish reality is the same as cues used in fictional stories, and then read up on how subconscious brain is the one who dictates your personality, your morals, and your opinions on deep level and then go look into up how sexual stimuli works (how it’s like a drug and you need “higher dose” aka more intense and real sexual stimuli every time to be able to finish) and then the effect of porn (erotica is porn too btw, first porn was yellow books) on human brain and relationships.
Which leads to why people will always bitch about dark themes of actual crimes that happen everyday being portrayed badly in medias. The issue of this will always fall with the power of sex, whether it’s good or bad and how flimsily people treat it.
You can have your opinions about how people act about this and if you like it or not,
but PLEASE refrain from false intellectual superiority with the “unlike rest of us who can differentiate stories from reality” when by any and all acclaimed scientific sources about human brain, wether it’s psychological or neurological. you are simply wrong. Humans can differentiate real life and a story the same way humans can look at an optical illusion and be unable to “unsee” what optical illusion wants them to see instead of what it actually is, you don’t have as much of a control on how and what your brain perceives as you’d like to think.
Understanding that enjoying and partaking in dark themes is dangerous for you and has to be done in moderation is not something new, it’s done with every other addictive activity like alcohol or gambling. You don’t need to make up a farse and incorrect reason to justify to others and yourself why this activity isn’t bad and youre totally in control. It’s simply lying. It’s not an opinion it’s just a fact.

Then you clearly werent there because the level of policing is NOWHERE near it is today. You either misread my comment or you read “back in my day” and immediately got so triggered you decided to go on a ten line rant for some reason. My original comment was made without any form of aggression, but it seems like sensitive people like you will easily spiral anything out of control because you are led by your emotions. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

Not really no. I don’t know if you have never taken a grammar class but bringing a well known example to have as an allegory is a common way of explaining things to people. Lmfao. If you don’t realize how much you sound like old people who get made fun of everyday for talking about good ol days that’s your issue. You have to be considered intelligent and educated in my eyes to have ability to hurt my feelings or hit my nerves yet you have not shown a single ounce of any of those in both your comments. Factually incorrect statement + emotional back in my days rant doesnt paint u as someone worth listening to for an opinion

If you deemed my opinion as something thats not worth your time, then why bother replying? Also, even if i DO sound like an old grandpa, thats fine! I believe that things WERE better back then, and i dont think theres anything inherently wrong with reminiscing, even if i come off as cringey. I am merely acknowledging the vast differences in consumer behaviours that I have observed, and i am conveying my annoyance with people’s inability to mind their own business.
In no way do i look down on people who are uncomfortable with dark themes, if thats what you got from my original comment. The idea i was going for is that if you dont enjoy something, avoid interacting with such content and the world would be a better place for everyone. Everyone is entitled to feeling uncomfortable with themes they find overly morbid, BUT if you are choosing to interact with such media out of your own accord just to argue with people who do enjoy the media, what are you hoping to achieve?
The comparison i was making was that back in the day (yes, i am using this again), people were much less obsessed imposing their own opinions on others, not that they didnt do it at all. Whereas today, this happens so frequently it is enough for me to make a whole post about it.
Lastly, i dont really get the idealogy that my dislikes for moral policemen warrants me the snowflake title when i am, well, expressing my frustrations with people who i deem complain too much. I am a snowflake for not liking snowflakes? interesting.

And id also like to add that even you used such examples, it doesn't really capture the extent of my comment because you spiralled it way out of proportion, almost like a hyperbole.
“ Sensitive ones are people like OP who start with “back in my day we had so much worse you snowflakes wouldnt survive” shit. they sound like American patriots talking about how they had to feed 5 grownups and 16 children on one chestnut for 3 months and then had work 592 hours a week and how we sissies have it all easy and how much better everything was back in their days. Just saying.”
I get the inference you’re trying to make, but i do think that its completely blown out of proportion, because the comment i made wasnt meant look down on anyone or demonstrate any superiority complex, but simply to REMINISCE. (Because i can)

Im ngl, i think bro is lowkey weird cus why are you typing a whole essay in an ILLEGAL website comment section under a manhwa that they clearly dislike? If you want to sound smart, this is not the right place With all those comments implying that ppl are less than them in terms of of education or intelligence is crazy making a whole paragraph to make an analogy (dramatic much). you don't like, ignore, what’s so hard about that?

They clearly have some sort of superiority complex and im not surprised bc people like this are extremely insufferable. my og comment was rather light hearted (i literally said “have a good day!”) but clearly that could not deter their big ego.
To each their own i suppose, they have all the rights to have their own opinions, but damn that analogy was a huge HUGE exaggeration (idk how they managed to escalate it so out of point) And yeah its quite true acting like you’re a higher life form on an illegal website is mad work

I'm so used to dealing with people like this that my fingers start typing before I even realize I'm starting shit again LOL
Like, I'm not ancient, but I turn 32 this summer and have been reading bl/yaoi since I was 10. I remember having a group of friends both offline and online through my younger years that did the same. We would get together and talk about our fave series and artists and even tried writing our own fanfics. I've been on online forums ((officially)) since I was 13. Okane Ga Nai, Black Butler, Sensitive Pornograph and several other household brand bl were all the rage back then lol no one gave a shit about the themes or potential "problematic" themes, and if they did we just wouldn't interact with them or tell them to move on.
But nowadays people can post "but rape bad, mm'kay" and get a morbillion likes on it and it only fuels these idiots to do it more, unfortunately.
I know this is not very related but recently ive seen sm hate for this manhwa and its quite sad because when did people become so sensitive? Like damn back in the day no one gaf and now its all people playing the facades of being pure innocents who think they have the right to police others around about what fiction is “okay” to read and what fiction is “wrong bc blah blah” Sorry for ruining the mood i just feel that it used to be so much more laid back and now fandoms feel like a prison. Anyways have a good day!
