Honestly? MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD: The ending is so stupid. After the final gang rape, the mc gets sent to the hospital for EXTENSIVE injuries and something goes off on his brain where he develops PTSD, depression, suicidal ideation and attachment issues. He tells the “ml” he can’t live without him and he needs his forgiveness (the plot twist is that the mc raped the ml in high school and gang raped him with his friends and recorded it, sent it to the mls mom and she developed psychosis and got sent to the psych ward…the gag is that the mc gets beaten up so bad by the ml’s friend that he develops amnesia and forgot what he did… so like wtf is the point). Anyway they both get together in the end but the mc is basically a live in slave/pet for the ml and they’re “happy” or whatever

Tbh i have no idea bc weren’t people trying to get this adaptation cancelled in the beginning? No one even wants it…and im sure they’re gonna have to “tone it down” bc I cannot emphasize how brutal the novel was. I’m lowkey scared for the future of BLs and novels bc I’ve been reading for years now and it’s gotten so extreme. SA like this should not be normalized

The people who were trying to get it canceled were mostly Korean 4b types who were concerned about the use of sexist language in the novel: particularly one instance where Jiwook talks about convincing a girl to record a sex tape with him and then leaking it when they were both minors. Weirdly enough if you go onto these people's pages a lot of them get so hype for regular yaoi rape schlock. It's just that sexism is a huge no-no. There was originally an extremely nasty chapter of the side stories with bestiality but it was replaced almost as soon as the adaptation was announced, (source, I bought the novel on Day 1 and that specific chapter had been removed until it could be replaced with something that's not dog dick porn). But the manhwa itself is doing pretty well, all things considered. On B0mtoon it has 19k favorites which is EXTREMELY impressive for a manhwa that's only about six months old. Compare that to Dear Door, which has been out since 2018 and has 26k favorites. If you assume that most of those 19k people are also regularly buying the chapters and a smaller portion of that are buying the overpriced merch, that's a good turnaround. But that's sort of the energy people bring for these sloppy, taboo stories. Low Tide In Twilight (which is literally peak YA novel poor person falls in love with rapist yandere dom) is one of the heaviest hitters on the site and that has 95k favorites.
Im not ready to see the next chapters images since i did read the novel
