Yeah, but I mean that's understandable as well. He's already lost him once and he's terrified of losing him again. And it wouldn't be to a breakup, it would be losing him to death!! He's scared that he's going to die suddenly, and without warning.
Yea I get that gyeol is scared but if you think about it, it was just one sided love at first cuz doyoon never saw gyeol in that way(more than friends), so the obsession has been going on for long.
