From what I read, the crown prince wanted to scare the MC from his own assassination attempt because if they got engaged together then there'd be an imbalance in the duchies and she was being too obsessive to not have any other method work, But the crown prince underestimated the MC's devotion and after she sacrificed herself to protect him, the crown prince became infatuated with her.
I read the first 5 chapters nd the brother is weird asf. Hes inlove w mc nd wanted her isolated so she could only rely on him..freak. Osis (the guy she used to like) or wtvr his name is, is some weird bastard who planned his own assassination attempts bc he liked the mc devoted to him. So from what im getting is everyone loved the mc but was too fucking sadistic and nasty to reciprocate it in a normal way.
