trauma dumping (?)

okay, I know a lot of you guys hates the way Caesar act, I do too, but he's just like that because of his upbringing. the way his father and the people around him treats him, made him the way he is. that chapter where he got kidnapped and the people in his house just straight up told him that he shouldn't have decided to go back home, is messed up.

this may sound a bit pick me, but I kind of also relate to Caesar (not in a psychotic kind of way, I don't torment or kill the people I love). the way each person's personality is based on what's happening inside their houses, are different. just recently, like a year or so, I discovered that crying is normal, like showing emotions and stuff. because in my household, crying is not the answer. my parents would beat me up if I show any emotions because it's weakness, as they say, so I just suck it up and move on.

my point is, this is fictional. I don't know why I'm trauma dumping (I'm sorry), but the hate Caesar gets because of his upbringing is not it. sure, he shot, raped, drugged, raped, threatened, raped, raped, raped Lee Won, but he's also the one to blame yk? staying with someone as toxic as that. but, I'm still sad that is finally over. I'll miss every cast :(

anyway, I hope no one would experience this kind of love.

Lmaooo totally agree with you, he’s not to blame for his actions, wouldn’t even wish this kind of love on my worst enemy

I hope you’re doing alright fam. Love how you wrote this out tho, the fandom could never make me hate Caesar.

Let me start by saying, I'm sorry you had to go though that.

But I don't agree with the message that just because he went though trauma, means he shouldn't be held accountable for how he acts. I know how someone is raised can shape a person but it still doesn't make up for what he's done. A serial killed can have a rough childhood but it doesn't make them killing okay, if that makes sense.

The point of it being fictional also doesn't sit right with me, just because something is fictional doesn't make it okay to do, this is just normalizing it. Like someone writing about minors. That not okay, but it's "fictional", so why's it wrong? See what I mean? Like just because it didn't actually happen in real life doesn't make romanticizing it okay.

The ending is what I have the problem with the most. I understand your point of view but imagine if this was a real person. Saying "he's also to blame for staying with him" is so disrespectful. A lot of people who get abused including myself stay with their abusing because they are scared to leave or feel they deserve to be abused. Could you imagine someone saying your to blame because you can't bring yourself to leave someone who almost killed himself to stop you from leaving?

Sorry if this is out there or anything. I just really didn't like the message of what you said. I hope I was disrespectful to you in anyway, I was just trying to share my point of view on the situation.

it's fine. you wrote this out beautifully. I agree with you entirely.

but what I meant when I said that Lee Won was also to be blamed, is that in the earlier chapter, where he could have the chance to refuse or ignore Caesar, he could've left there and then, but he still decided to stay. I blame Caesar entirely for what's happening to Lee Won, like how he assaulted him in any way possible, but he doesn't realize that what he's doing is bad because of how people around him act.

yes, you do have a great point that I kind of, unintentionally, blamed the victim for being assaulted, which wasn't my intention. Lee Won probably had 'Stockholm Syndrome' that's why he stayed with Caesar until the end. the reason why I was kinda defending Caesar is because, even after everything that has happened, he still managed to shower Lee Won with love, in his own way, and it kind of made it all okay(?).

though, I don't agree with everything he's done and anything he'll do.

I'm sorry, too. for victim blaming, its was mot my intention, please forgive me T^T
