I had a close call before someone was sanding the wrong way on a circular sander next to me while I was working on the band saw and it didn't have a saw stop like our table saw did so it wouldn't have shut itself off so when the wood got caught and shot off twords me it was like a slow motion of realization that it could get bad I had to quickly mentally prepare myself to not react when it hit me so I didn't lose a finger

these people are always sanding one the wrong side of the circular sander, if that would have happened to me I would've screamed out something why can't they just put the wood the other way if they feel that it's pushing against the wood?? Do they really have to force it?? Hope ur ok, it must have been traumatic for u I almost cut myself on the table saw cause the wood was a bit crooked but I'm glad nothing happened
I took wood working that tool is no joke especially if it's been sharpened
