I love how this story is so realistic, it really captures the relationship btw parents and children. Especially with one as difficult as Duris. I’m honestly loving the character development of her.
It’s not like she goes from conservative I favor my sons over my daughters. She gradually changes and you can see her genuinely trying to make herself better despite the societal pressure to behave a certain way.
I can’t imagine how suffocating it is to live in a society like that especially when you don’t have a backbone like a family and back then the backbone of the family was considered the father(he ran away) and the son who you see she excessively favors over her own daughters.
