I don't think he trusts the demon king. He's only using the only other power he has to complete his goal since he can't go back to being the Marquess
He knows, he knows he is getting played by both the Demon King and the Emperor King, he’s just using the Demon King first to bring down the Emperor then the Demon king
does he know he getting used by the Demon King? I feel like the Human King is the least bad out of three here. He's a standby that do nothing to help but the Duke and Demon are the one create the problem. So I kinda feel bad for the King
