Looking for a manga

Hi, I'm looking for an old manga I read a long time ago. It's a dark medieval fantasy series, possibly only 4 volumes long. The main character is a depressed blond guy. At the end of the story, he dies—possibly by suicide—and his companion, a taller dark-haired guy, cuts off his head and carries it with him using a magical seal under the neck. There might have been something involving a dragon, too. The hero doesn't get resurrected and the story ends there. It wasn't very popular and I don't think it ever got an anime adaptation. I think the hero doesnt save his world i dont remember it was a longtime ago. Does anyone know what manga this is?
