Yep more fear than love. Bu he does feel comfortable enough not to be too bothered to escape. I guess the perks of being empress and the love of the emperor outweighs the fear
He does love him he just doesn't want to admit it to himself because of zigril's personality. It was revealed before the zombie in forest arc, during the castle alosha flower arc and even when he was in the sewers. Don't know how you missed it every time.
Might be the only one that thinks this but Kay does not love Zigril which is honestly surprising to me because in all the bl's I've read even though the seme has done fucked up shit to the uke it all does not matter in the end of the story they will always fall in love
