I wasn’t even being disrespectful in my reply, it was simply me asking for people to not compare yuri characters to male yaoi characters. It’s no surprise that himejoshis get upset when female characters in yuri, lesbian characters, and sapphic characters in general get so much judgement while yaoi characters don’t even get the same amount of hate. Why is it so hard for you guys to consume yuri without comparing the characters to males or bringing up yaoi? Genuinely. You might not see this as a big issue, and it’s obvious from your rude reply. Why are you so filled with hate and vitriol?

I kinda get what you are saying but you are absolutely criticizing the wrong person here and are projecting and assuming out of you ass with this one.
Like news flash but a lot of BL readers on this site also read GL so of course they are going to do comparing since that is the media they consume the most (Just like somebody would compare a popular tv show with another popular tv show) and those readers (specifically on here) happen to be queer people wanting to read stories with same-sex relationships of any kind. I personally also haven't heard harsher judgement on yuri here...
I am also trying to figure out how you got allat from a comment from somebody - who I assume is a sapphic woman too - proclaiming they want to bang a female character at the end of it lol

1) I'm not talking about this site, I'm talking about in general.
2) Speculating on people's sexualities and making conjecture about how "a lot" of BL readers read yuri on this site (which I question), and these said BL readers also being queer doesn't mean you're stating something truthful. You have no proof to backup your claim. And if "a lot" of BL readers read yuri on this site, can I ask why so many requests is for yaoi? Can I ask why there's barely yuri in the top mangas? Can I ask why is it when there was a yaoi manhwa mistagged as yuri, it immediately reached top 5 in yuri? Why is it that the reviews between between yuri and yaoi are so massively disproportionate? Your assumption of "a lot" of readers also consuming GL cannot be proved considering this site itself is mostly for YAOI.
3) Who are you to say I'm projecting, that I'm criticising them, and assuming out of my ass? Your example about a comparison between TV shows isn't comparable to this if you're a himejoshi. Do you know how frustrating it is to see BL fans, fujoshis, and of the like discredit lesbian and sapphic relationships and ask for it to be "BL instead"? A Korean lesbian dating show received comments from fujoshis saying "why not BL?" But of course, I'm "projecting" right?
4) Point out to me, when was I EVER disrespectful in my reply? "How did you get all that from their reply", what all that are you referring to? Me asking them to not compare yuri characters to male characters ESPECIALLY in yaoi?
5) Genuinely, GENUINELY. Why can many of you "BL readers who read GL" have the inability to read yuri without mentioning or making offhand comments about yaoi? It gets to a point, and it's so tiring.

scratchtrash said it better than i would. this being said - i really, really didn’t mean any harm by saying that. at all. she really just reminded me of that character. that’s all. it’s that simple. i don’t wish this was bl, i don’t compare yuri/gl to bl on daily basic. and after all, i'm lesbian myself. i kinda get your frustrations, like i really do. i wish there were more gl stories, i wish could get more recognition. but saying this to someone who didn’t write anything that outrageous (i stand by that), is really an overreaction. sorry. scrolling is for free. this is a public domain. people will comment what they like, for god sake’s, people on here even comment horrific terrible things, from what i have seen. if i wrote something absolutely unhinged (i wouldn’t in the first place), i would’ve deleted this already.

Oh also this is from years ago but here some proof that a good amount of people specifically here are queer since it just popped up on my homepage:

And trust me, there is many more posts like that too.

The way both of you are putting words in my mouth when all I said was "Can you guys just read yuri without bringing up yaoi? It gets so tiring'
So is ANYONE going to explain to me why you guys are so upset over that? Because I wasnt the first person writing paragraphs and accusing someone else of "assuming out of their ass" and "self-projecting"!

You basically walked into a bar, overheard someone say a joke about eating red meat and then you started talking about how people don't take the abuse of the meat industry seriously.
Is there anything wrong with the statement 'Can you guys just read Yuri without bringing up yaoi? It gets so tiring" ? No and nobody has said that (I think)
The problem is the context and what the person said originally, can you explain to me how saying a character looks like a another character is bringing up yaoi?
Another example would be if I'm watching women sports and is say one of the players looks like(X male player), does that make me a person that con only think of male sports or I just saw a similarity.
The problems you have mentioned are very real, and it seem that naturally you have started to se it even when it isn't there no you reply wasn't rude or wrong, it was just weird...
this goes si hard oh god and the art is gorgeous and i literally don’t know what’s about to come but i'm hyped anyways.
(grinning at my phone from the backseat while taking an uber lmfao)
