I always miss Yukio when he doesn't appear, but I like to know more about the other characters's backgrounds, motivations and actions, and also about what is happening in the yazuka. An story is always better when the world building is more detail and realistic, and especially when more characters have complexity and importance. Also, considering how the author is telling the story, I would say yukio isn't the only main character.
