Okay as someone who has finished the novel, people seriously need to stop spreading “spoilers” when they haven’t even read the novel and are spreading rumors from someone who relayed incorrect info. In regards to lady devon:

She is not a man at all like people have been falsely spreading. Those people are followers who found wrong info and are relaying it to others. She is one hundred percent a woman. There is a single scene in the novel, to make it have a comedic and misunderstanding scene. It was explained that she was CURSED to turn into a man ONCE a month, every full moon. She is not originally a man. And the novel doesn’t specify her feelings towards Agnes, as romantic. It feels closer towards admiration, idolization, and gratitude for the original Agnes. Btw that info about the curse on lady devon was mentioned only once in the novel and was not mentioned again and wasn’t elaborated on. They didn’t say why and how it came to be. They threw that info in there and then left it.

Anyways onto my opinion:

Tbh I’m not enjoying this addition. This is another new event that never occurred in the novel. Lady devon never cockblocked Kylo. So it’s pretty annoying that they created an opportunity for Kylo and FL to be alone, and they decided to give that screen time to lady devon instead. Forced girl friendships are one of my least favorite tropes ngl. In the novel, FL was hardly close to lady devon, and literally only interested in ML. So it was like both FL and ML were each other’s most important person and paid each other their full attentions 24/7. Which I found stood out in all the other stories that has the FL being popular and being friends with everyone. This whole lady devon becomes hostile to those that like FL, feels off. I actually find such rival friendships annoying af. It’s like the author saw the trend with yuri bait and wanted to throw more bait in.

And also the fact that the only reason lady Devon admires FL is because of the OG Agnes. So it feels icky to develop a friendship with FL, thinking she’s the OG Agnes. That affection feels like it should only be towards the OG Agnes. It’s what OG Agnes should’ve received. It’s like the maid that loved and cared for the OG villainess in Kill the Villainess. I forgot the exact reason, but something happened between OG Agnes and lady devon in the past, which made lady devon start to admire OG Agnes and hate Raymond.
