They're lunatics. He got their hearts because he is much more of a lunatic than they are, not fearing death. He's the only one who satisfies their urges (their murderous urges, but who's to say it doesn't include sexual obes)
Tbh I'm super curious how he got his squad to like him so much. The level of loyalty and endearment from them is kind of insane. I wonder if they'll ever go over it (〜￣△￣)〜
