u dont truly understand the plot views, the ml somehow belives consummating the marriage wouldve made it truly a valid marriage, maybe its in their tradition on what he grown to know, and given the situation that of the clan wars and attempted assasination to him,,he couldve killed him instead and go worse with torture given its a possible assasin purpose only.
