It's Ethan. He is very scheming but he would never hurt Dorothy nor the ones precious to her. My bet it he is plaiyng Nereus for the long game and sabotaging him
Probably exhausting Hart troops fighting just a few of Uvera army (that his brother commands)
And being an spy for Uvera, this will probably give him honor to come back and win the hand of the princess, letting his brother in a bad place (but not dead just seeming like a coward, probably losing his standing)
