The comic does a really bad job of setting up the story. [This isn't spoiler, is literally all written on first chapter of the novel.]
The MC (Su Ru Hui) was a famous inventor in his last life that gave normal folks the power (through his inventions) to fight back nobles (whom usually have spiritual powers). The nobles hated him and labelled him as a fugitive. Eventually they (the Kun Lun Sect) stole his inventions and killed him. One of the strongest member of the Kun Lun Sect was the ML, whom always chased after him and spoiled his plans. After MC died, ML realized his mistakes and regretted letting MC die.
In the beginning of the chapter, MC wakes-up up after ~5 years from his death in a new body. One that belongs to Jiang Que Xie, a 17 year old young master that so happened to just have married 3 days ago to the ML. The original Jiang Que Xie was likely assassinated the night that MC took over the body.
Now awakened in a new body, he goes to check out the manor and he finds ML sleeping and injured. This is the first scene you see in the comic.
