I totally agree with u on that! The both of them just needed some development before getting together, the whole process just took waaaay too long without really giving us much, the slow burn almost burned itself to death, gotta admit
Also, try 4 Week Lovers - it's very very sweet and there's also much smut and the main characters kinda have the obssessive streak to their romance, tho it's very mild!
Also, if u're into omegaverse, try Waterside Night, it's one of my favorites!

The comments say that the ml is bland, i think the mc is even more bland at least chae-hoon has the obsessive streak to him and a little backstory to him. Throughout the whole plot, I really didn't understand why the mc even liked the ml. Sure it was a crush, but they didn't even interact properly for years to develop to a "love" from his end. Also, I get he's a kind and soft hearted soul, but yk what would've made it even more interesting, if mc was also obsessive as the ml. It would've added so much more to his "crush" and why he couldn't get over the ml over all these years. Ahhh wishful thinking.
