Don’t worry I completely agree with you. Regardless of how the story will pan out, given what’s been shown so far, it was quite weird how many takes have been taken when it’s quite clear cut. Nothing wrong with having a variety of opinions, but like is it not obvious they don’t live in the same era/world that we do? Yes, the dukedom committed something irreversible, but they live in a world where they are not given the right to choose what’s right or not when their power structure is completely dictated by the emperor. Nobody has to like every character shown, but like this is just logical reasoning that doesn’t need people to like the characters or not, they didn’t have a choice and they chose to prioritize the safety of their loved ones. Like if you live in a slave like world and your master gives you a choice to kill you family or kill a stranger you don’t know, what would you do? You’d probably save your family too.
Sorry for adding to the rant lol, I just sometimes don’t get how sometimes people start comparing fictional works set in a historical setting to the standards of the modern era. Like guys, we should just be glad we are privileged enough to not have to live like the characters in this story that’s being forced to kill others just to protect your loved ones┗( T﹏T )┛.

I just binge read this today, and my initial reaction for the first chapters is that "I fucking hate this emperor, he's for sure retarded." ; "what the fuck, why curse him? oh nvm understandable he led the killing of ur family, yep, deserved. But... can't you also have done the same to uhhhh the mastermind behind it?? they were just the tools used, not the one with motive..", " fucking bio dad, the audacity tf"; "cuter"; etc.
in my opinion..., no one asked I know so just move away if u don't want to know or can't respect it.

I think the story is good but some of the readers in here is not it, like if you don't like it stop and drop this. Like not saying I agree with the actions committed by the characters (the Duke, and the knights) like I hate they did and I'm sad they felt like they need to do it. But do not forget that it was explicitly stated that THAT WAS DONE DUE TO AN EMPIRIAL ORDER BY THE TYRANT EMPEROR/KING THAT WAS THREATENED AND JEALOUS OF THE DUCHY AND WANTED TO GET RID OF ANOTHER CLAN HE DOESN'T LIKE, THEY CANT JUST IGNORE IT AND LET THOSE THEY CARED ABOUT DIE. I agree that the mortia's shouldn't have died and the duchy's servants and employees shouldn't have been involved in the curse, they didn't deserve that but what can they have done?! the emperor wanted the mortia's gone and the consequences of the duke following the order for the safety of his people was the curse, he's paying for it and I believe he and those that committed it are aware they were wrong, hopefully.
Also what's with the hate with Rick?? He ain't done anything!! Also the story is new and give it a chance to develop and introduce us to the plot and characters more, like we don't know everything about the story yet, what do y'all want?? have the story be told and not shown?? like basic writing 101 is literally show not tell. BE PATIENT ffs.
