i know, but he used to be very manly! the artist has the ability to make him manly in their new art style too. i just think it’s a shame since that was a major plot point at the beginning : being muscular, taller than akino, and with more masculine features.
don’t get me wrong i love the art style but i’ve read so many BLs where bottoms who used to be the top were very manly and all their masculine features suddenly disappeared when they took it up the ass lol i kinda don’t like that

I've always hated how artists do that

    same!
i love buff manly bottoms, and every time they nerf them like that it makes me sad, not only because i like the trope, but also because, to me, this feels very misogynistic and homophobic.
here we have a case of mild feminization, it’s not *that* bad but sometimes making a tough bottom become cute and fragile and honestly, female-like, makes me feel like i’m reading a shoujo or some sort of heterosexual romance. and doing that with gay characters, i think it’s giving internalized homophobia …
and im not talking about some kind of gap moe with a tough bottom who likes cute things, im talking about the chara design literally shifting to a more delicate one.

Holy cow you're right! Meguro looked so different in the first chapter. I know art styles grow with the artist but he definitely looks a lot "softer" and younger even...
