Ah shoot... this comment made me so effin curious, I had to go back to a LOT of chapters, zoomed in to the backgrounds, and took an extremely closer look. I hate to break it to everyone who tried to defend the artist and the comic, but it is AI. If you zoomed in to the backgrounds, there's a lot of blurred stuffs (not the ones artists uses to intentionally blur backgrounds), and objects are smudged in a very inhumane way. As an artist myself, I know very well how to identify human art from AI art, especially I saw a lot of other people using AI for art. It's very easy to spot on. I really love 19 days, and I never would hate it because of this, but I have to say, maybe I'm just a bit sad? Or a little disappointed? Nonetheless, I will keep on supporting the artist and 19 days, and keep on reading because I love the story and I know the artist still puts effort on the characters. But yes, backgrounds is AI, 99%. Tho the objects that the characters interact with is handdrawn.
Also, the artist uses a filter to make the background blend into the comic more. So that's why it feels like, "a photo with a comic filter" for a regular eyes.
As a full time illustrator, I honestly do not mind that the backgrounds are ai, I still enjoy the story. They are such a small part of the story and it gives way less stress to the artist, needing to draw less. Also there is still tons of pressure for updates from readers. Much better use of ai compared to people who pretend they drew a design and sell it.
still having mixed feelings about it. there's already so much backlash with AI art however if it helps speed up the process with the backgrounds it kinda is an advantage for the illustrators or artists out there. with 19 days it's kinda okay for me since the focus and time will be spent on the characters who are the main focus anyway
That's what I thought, since it's not affecting the characters which is the main thing we look at, but I have to say, in her previous chapters she drew the background beautifully. I think she stopped drawing the background herself to speed up the process
Yeah, surely I would have loved it if everything was hand drawn, her previous drawn backgrounds are beautiful. I guess she started doing that to speed up the process perhaps, and since our main focus is looking at the characters then it's not affecting the story, I would keep reading it as well, but yeah, if you asked me did I feel disappointed? I would say yes

How does everyone feel about the background being AI? I personally don't like to involve AI especially in art, so if I would have to choose, I would prefer for it not be there, especially the author's background art in previous chapters was beautiful and there wasn't anything wrong with it, idk why she decided to include AI in it. However, it just the background so it doesn't affect that much..
