Oh hell nooo Everyone is being brainwashed I've seen this trope many times before, but for some reason here it seems way more ominous I think it's bc it's not an instant "I hate you now and I'll say the most horrible things to you bc I'm clearly being manipulated" It's a much more subdued, slowly taking over people's minds, sometimes they seem ok, sometimes they seem off I didn't realize it's much more disturbing when you can see there's clearly a regular person under the mental control
