Yes, in the novel Hwirim is referred as both him AND her (which confused me to begin with as I thought the translator made a mistake/typo).
But after so many 'typos' it can't be a mistake. There's only one explanation, and that is the author must refer Hwirim as both she and him.
So for now I concluded, Hwirim is probably an aphrodite type of being (which I hope to be described in details later).
Correction: Hermaphrodite being or a female with androgynious features

yes you mean the novel translation right… i AM the translator and I translated the character’s pronouns as she/her. i also made a note at the bottom of the chapter saying their gender was hidden at this point in the story. there were no typos, please don’t use my translation to spread misinformation, i really don’t like that. btw, the author NEVER used he/him or she/her or anything. the korean language does not use pronouns.
I don't know what else to say, when I said the novel it means the author. A novel is created by an author, end of story. There should be no debate on that.
I did say, I THOUGHT the translator made a typo. But I soon made myself clear it can't be a mistake because Jaegyeom repeatedly calling Hwirim HIM (it's in your translation), this must be what's written originally by the author.
Because then, you put a note that Hwirim's gender's UNKNOWN, to avoid the reader's confusion. Otherwise, why would you do that?

I’m explaining to you again because you clearly are not understanding. The author does NOT use he/him or any pronouns because in korean, they don’t use pronouns AT ALL (in this instance). Korean doesn’t work the same as english, you can write a complete sentence without a single pronoun. But it’s unavoidable in english, so I made the decision to reveal Hwirim’s gender by using she/her. Can you point to me when I used “him” in my translation? If it is indeed a typo I will be more than happy to fix it. The manhwa’s translator may have made a different decision, which is completely fine and understandable; Jaegyeom thinks Hwirim is a man, and the manhwa translator chooses to reflect that.
After taking another look at the chapter, I think I know what you are referring to. It’s the line said by Jaegyeom, “He’s looking down on you! Win and show him!” right? This is not what was “originally written by the author”, I made the decision to use he/him in this particular dialogue because Jaegyeom thinks Hwirim is a man. The switching of pronouns may be confusing, that’s why I wrote the note at the end. This is not a problem in its original language, I’m here to clarify that because you said you hope the author clarifies this.

Okay I knew the teacher is the ML’s father but I saw somewhere that this new friend of his is a woman and the ML’s mother but that doesn’t seem like the case cause he is clearly a man???
