icky feeling

Don't like how the author treats the female characters, I know that this is a hyperreality, where nearly everyone is fucked up.
But what disturbs me is the instance of showing the first bully girl be raped then the pedo teacher also and now a girl that lies about rape, it's always about rape with female characters, either down to be raped as an act of "justice" or lie about rape, it sets a dangerous precedence that women lie about rape all the time... Which is still being perpetuated today, that's why I'm not feeling great about author's choices

There were also the 2 guys who bullied the MC on the beginning and the psycho guy who tried to r@pe MC so if my math isn’t wrong 3 women and 3 guys were punished ?

uhm fyi the last guyshirayuki got rid off tried to attempt rape on mc, the 2 guys from the 3 bullies (2 guys 1 girl) at the very start on the story was attempting to sell mc off to some old man just so he could get raped

Did you even read the manga he also killed men and FYI you will find those types of women everywhere

For anyone who understood me wrong, I didn't mean that it doesn't happen to guys and that guys aren't punished what disturbs me is that the author sees rape as the only valid "punishment" for the female characters, the guys are often tortured, killed etc, but the female characters are always punished by rape and then they kill themselves. It's just a bit worrying portrayal of female characters and then I get there's women than wrongly accuse of rape but it is often brought up as to reason to not believe the victims even though the statistics show different.
Also those are just some of my observations and I just wanted to let them out here

right, I noticed the same thing. It’s not just that the story is dark, like i get it, it needs to hbe messed up but like the author keeps using rape as the main punishment or revenge for female characters, but then the male characters get a wider range of tortures, both mind and body. really creates that wrong message, like “women lie about rape” or that being raped is somehow “justice.” when it comes to revenge. even in a messed up manga, how the author chooses to portray things matters, and this pattern feels lazy at best and harmful at worst. harmful in a way that you never know who might read this, and there’s always a chance that someone out there will take these awful scenes seriously instead of thinking this is fiction

i rephrase, they keep using rape as main punishment or drama. like if it’s woman, automatically it’s centred around rape

This is so true. The reoccuring horror trope of women being involved on rape is actually so harmful. Rape isn’t just a horror cliche, it’s an actual problem and the way how women characters are often linked to rape because it’s “disturbing” is dehumanizing. Especially when the same trope is repeated with all the female characters. Of course rape is disturbing and disgusting but there are ways to create disturbing female characters without it always having something to do with rape.

Also so far only the female characters had been punished with rape. I hate rape as a punishment in general but the fact that only the fame character got that punishment is.....

exactlyyy, like if im reading psychological horror, i wanna expect body horror, gore, some incomprehensible torture, things that doesn’t make sense in real life. if the so called torture is “rape ” again and again, i better just read true crime stories
