Yes, but as I said he doesn't trust her. Why would he believe someone who's hostile to him before? It could be her "acting". But yeah, I already said that he MIGHT believe her later once the trust is established. But doing so at that stage will only widen the distance between their relationship cause it sounds like a ploy.
