I've been re-reading "Por Meu Amor Abandonado" and the difference is absurd. Like in this story, we're over 20 chapters into a Starbucks rip off that adds nothing to the story, but in "Por Meu...", the side stories, like the soap business and the dinner, allow the main cast to get closer and contribute to the final goal of the MC. I know they're completely different stories, but there's very little interaction from the main cast during the café plot and nothing new is happening if fells like.
