I'm still not sure but my theory is that since he likes tormenting/playing with people that like him yk like playing with their feelings until he makes them hate him. I'm pretty sure he thought her brother has taken interest in him so he decided to play with his feelings
I'm confused by the last few chapters... like now it's headed to the right direction so whatever ig... but like why did he try to make a move on that girl's brother?
