You can think it’s weird, but it’s not pedo or predatory to develop feelings for someone later in life even if you knew them closely as a minor. As long as nothing was going on before then and there were no feelings before or grooming, it’s neither predatory or pedophilic.

It's predatory although I agree that it's not pedophilia. MC has relied on him since he was a child, and that old dude is like a parental figure to him, and has a lot of influence and dominance over him since he helped to raise him as a child. It's still so weird.

I’m not saying you’re wrong about Taegu’s influence/dominance in Yeongwon’s life, or that he might not still have influence, but I do think you’re 100% wrong by saying he’a predatory or that it’s inherently predatory. If Taegu was trying to abuse the influence he had, then yes it would be predatory. But he’s not.

As for Taegu’s influence on Yeongwon and whether it’s inherently predatory because of the relationship they had, MC is a full grown adult and can make his own decisions for himself. He’s no longer a kid reliant on Taegu. Sure, as kids we might look up to or respect older people and think they’re always right especially if we’re close to them or they have a mentorship role. But as you grow, eventually you become independent and form your own mindsets and thoughts. And usually, you no longer think the older person is right in every scenario. Heck, even in teenage years kids start seeing that their own parents aren’t always right.

So, Yeongwon might still look up to Taegu, but I do not think it’s enough to be inherently predatory relationship wise

It's still predatory because he's a parental figure to him. Sure, MC wouldn't like him back but the thought of liking a child you helped to raise romantically is abnormal and disgusting.
