It’s here because people like that sort of thing in Japan, part of why this sells so well over there. I honestly thing the author just created one of the best fictional worlds and power systems, and then slapped in stuff to get an audience, like cute girls that are crazy over MC, little sister type love interest (weird for us, but Japanese people love it), love rival for MC.
We all know Tatsuya only has space for Miyuki, so, why the unnecessary drama with the others? I don't like them so I want them to suffer a lot when he actually rejects them for good.
I mean, good for you for fighting for your feelings but when the person you like, doesn't like you back, respect that!
It's just bothersome and creepy, to insist so intensely.
