Imo, it feels more like a kind of memory thing? The story switches from novel trope story arc and the reality that it's a novel.
The plot makes fun of the novel tropes within itself through Dan-I, and she'll get slapped in the face every now and then that she doesn't belong [here], whether it's with her friends, in that world, socially, etc. Each arc, she grows and is more confident in things, but the same insecurity that she's in a novel and that the people she loves are "fictional tropes" is a consistent conflict and doesn't change.
Like when she learns to trust her friends, then learns to confide in them, learns to be good, wants to proceed the romance between the FL and the ML, etc. plus the mystery of why and how she's in a novel, and trying to survive with the tropes around her.
I don't have too much of an issue since it reminds me of myself, I can learn a lesson and go through things, but I can still feel insecure. She's more secure and relies on her friends now, but people around are still the same, which can tempt one back into that mindset. Especially since she has to keep such a big secret.
I’m literally so confused.. I’ve read this story since the very beginning and have followed it for almost a year now, why does it seem like the plot gets forgotten and then suddenly remembered but then forgotten once again..????? ( ̄へ ̄)
