AAAA that's why sometimes i love gag manga more than other manga. at first they're just silly but when the story become deeper more emotional with cool action it will really hit because of the contrast (and i wouldn't expect plot twist from a gag manga so i never able to guess them) for example gintama and katekyo hitman reborn. one piece's silly jokes are also gag.
Id also suggest reading mairimashita iruma kun if you havent checked it out already. It's a similar setup to this manga where it's 1 human in a world full of demons.
Just remembered another series that follows the same plot style that you described called, I don't want this kind of hero. It's very underrated and I like it a lot

ooh iruma-kun already my favorite, i forget to include that because it's so fluffy i almost forget it also big on comedy. i think i read i dont want this kind of hero before, but i will read it again. truly you guys know what i am talking about ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
