Dang Haewon kept destroying his plans over and over until eventually he became impatient and angry, hence losing his rationality. It kind of states the importance of having a thorough plan without interruption, in this instance Haewon, and making sure there are backups. The demon king’s main plan was to use the flower to control the murim world while he was restoring his power and found a suitable host. He believed that his power and plan it would never be disrupted, that’s why he only had the ONE plan.
