They looked like gnomes this last ch. Maybe the artist's assistant quit and they were in charge of drawing ears because it's this artist's kryptonite so they just have to make do. Or they have developed an ear fetish.
But you're right about Chaon, he was so spunky at the beginning wasn't he?
It started so gud but then chaon became so lame and no hate but the art style is changing, i keep getting distracted by how big their ears are in the lastest chapters
