If you want more authenticity, the bara tag is supposed to be more accurate but I personally read for the plot rather than accuracy.
i mean bara is good (mostly) bc it's a genre made by gay men for gay men BUT lots of it it's just sex (not complaining but not everyone's taste)
Well if you’re looking for plot, yaoi and bara is the wrong place for it. Look for shounen ai. Yaoi itself means no substance. I forgot the actual 3 part phrase but essentially it’s porn without plot. They added plot to it but it’s still mostly porn. Shounen ai is boys love so it’s got plot and lots of love. I think they have some shounen ai turned yaoi so it’s love and then sex. Those might be better for you. Look for slow burn tags.
