I would just wait a day or some hours (until the original post is like on the 3rd page or so) and repost. Maybe add some extra details that make it easier for people to answer the question.

In your case, I wouldn't worry about it. The fact that you're taking politeness into consideration already shows that you aren't the type to post obnoxiously.
if your post got few/no responses is it better to remake the post or boost it with a new comment? what do u guys think? i wouldn’t do it in excess but just curious what the general consensus prefers/would the latter get responses at all?
