I think thats what he wanted to happen so thats why he recorded the vids before he reached 100% immersion, and im pretty sure the bullying and recording (hesitantly but of his own volition, for the sake of the ending) hurt him more than being cornered and outed as a villain since he wanted the original bully to suffer the worst pain (for the bully) imaginable
