I mean that's the reality of such a world isn't it, they're all desperate to live and they work together but discovering that someone broke their code and does something selfish (even tho it was for family) it was appear as betrayal
Would we get to see MC become a hound? Cus this whole situation occured due to lack of resources so he might go out and make it an excuse to escape ML for a bit. But then again there's the children he's been teaching..
